It augurs

The Bald Eagle
has landed
on the thin edge
of the wedge
between reason
and need.

His care
the hybrid nation
that speaks
shapes of English,
Spanish and snippets from Europe.

The Eagle lifts its wings;
its brood
fight each other,
red in beak and nail;
the strongest will survive.

Soar Eagle.
shake off the dirt
of your nest,
look at the rest of the world
from earth orbit.
