Dancing with bulls
2012/07/26 in Uncategorized
Jumping over death
When she stepped
into the ring
the huge voice of the people
was a sea
that rushed up to her ears.
The bull was ready.
It saw her
and charged.
Stay close Great Goddess,
she said inside her mouth,
watching the bull’s head.
Two steps forward,
then she slapped her hands
on the horns
at the side of the head.
The bull jerked violently upward,
she flipped her body over,
somersaulted slowly.
There was no sound,
the sun gently dipped
up and down.
She landed on the bull’s back,
his muscles twisted
under her bare feet.
Voices roared
like a storm at sea.
She was alive,
she rode the bull.
The Goddess of the Underworld
covered her face
and hobbled out
to sit in the shade
against the wall
outside the ring,
to wait.

Hello Rumncoke. Can you perhaps elaborate a little on “*****”?

5 stars hmmm?
Hallo De Waal. Greatly enjoyed. Of course she waits! Loved the casual assonance and the sensual alliterative s.
Greetings from Eden, George.

Hello Myra
Oh my goodness, I’m dense! Of course Rumncoke means “five stars”! For some reason it baffled me.
I’m pleased that you took note of the sound structure in the poem and appreciated it. Not many readers take the time to read a poem closely in order to enjoy its subtleties. Thanks!

Elyos and Asmodians are both the main race of wow. Mortal regard them as angels who protect the tower of eternity in the ancient time. http://www.guildwarsize.com This race broke into two part because they disagree with each other.
