Prevention of payroll errors – Part 1 of 5

There are a number of simple steps which can be taken to minimise errors being made in the payroll department of a company. These include:
- Employee number and surname must display on each document that gets sent to the payroll department
- Deadlines should be established by when documents are to be handed to payroll, to ensure ample time for capturing the information on the payroll system. These deadlines must be adhered to by employees, managers and payroll staff.
