2012 was indeed a La Nina rather than an El Nino, but it was the hottest La Nina year on record according to the US NOAA, beating 2011 which was the previous hottest La Nino.
2010 was an El Nino.
What is meant by your statement that the “earth’s energy stores are depleted now” ?
“Climate change”is the prefered term, rather than “global warming”as we will see more extreme weather, including extreme cold. The average is still expected to go up though.
