The miracle of friendship

November 29, 2010 in Uncategorized

There is a

Miracle called

Friendship

that dwells within

the heart and you don’t

know how it happens

or when it even starts.

But the happiness

it brings you always

gives a special lift

and you realize that

Friendship

is God’s most precious gift.

Laat my gaan

November 28, 2010 in Uncategorized

moenie my vas hou nie, laat my gaan.

Laat my gaan, laat my vlieg op die hoogste kruin van die lewe.

Wense my die beste, wees bly vir my, laat my gaan.

Wees net lief vir my , maar moenie my langer vashou nie.

Ek wens dit kon anders wees, miskien as ons mekaar

in ‘n ander leeftyd ontmoet het sou dit dalk gewerk het.

Dit is nie maklik om te laat gaan nie vir al nie iemand

wat vas is aan jou hart se binnekamers nie.

So ek vra jou, laat my gaan,

al is dit swaar om dit te doen

is dit die beste ding om te doen

voor ons altwee nog ‘n duurder prys moet betaal.

Laat my gaan, my lief.

See it through

November 27, 2010 in Uncategorized

by Edgar A. Guest

When you’re up against a trouble,

Meet it squarely, face to face;

Lift your chin and set your shoulders,

Plant your feet and take a brace.

When it’s vain to try to dodge it,

Do the best that you can do;

You may fail, but you may conquer,

See it through!

Black may be the clouds about you

And your future may seem grim,

But don’t let your nerve desert you;

Keep yourself in fighting trim.

If the worst is bound to happen,

Spite of all that you can do,

Running from it will not save you,

See it through!

Even hope may seem but futile,

When with troubles you’re beset,

But remember you are facing

Just what other men have met.

You may fail, but fall still fighting;

Don’t give up, whate’er you do;

Eyes front, head high to the finish.

See it through!

The Difference Between Winning and Losing

November 26, 2010 in Uncategorized

By Catherine Pulsifer

Hanging on, persevering, WINNING

Letting go, giving up easily, LOSING

Accepting responsibility for your actions, WINNING

Always having an excuse for your actions, LOSING

Taking the initiative, WINNING

Waiting to be told what to do, LOSING

Knowing what you want and setting goals to achieve it, WINNING

Wishing for things, but taking no action, LOSING

Seeing the big picture, and setting your goals accordingly, WINNING

Seeing only where you are today, LOSING

Being determined, unwilling to give up WINNING

Gives up easily, LOSING

Having focus, staying on track, WINNING

Allowing minor distractions to side track them, LOSING

Having a positive attitude, WINNING

having a “poor me” attitude, LOSING

Adopt a WINNING attitude!

Dare to be

November 25, 2010 in Uncategorized

By Steve Maraboli

When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.

When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.

When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.

When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.

When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.

When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.

When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going.

When times are tough, dare to be tougher.

When love hurts you, dare to love again.

When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.

When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.

When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand.

When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile.

When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too.

When the day has ended, dare to feel as you’ve done your best.

Dare to be the best you can -

At all times, Dare to be!

Be What You Want To Be and Love What You Have

November 25, 2010 in Uncategorized

I believe in life we should be grateful

Of what we have and who we are.

A human being means be alive

And being alive means taking authority of your life.

When you meet challenges stand your ground

And don’t be moved by the wind

A human being is like tent,

Has no foundation, when it rains it gets wet

When the wind blows it goes to whichever direction the wind takes it to

With time it gets torn and has to be patched up, that is a life of a man

We go through different challenges in life;

They should make you and not break you

They ought to make you strong

And not discourage you; do not hold to the situation

Go through it and live on,

But remember the lesson learned through it

Live according to Gods calling; move in love, love peace and happiness

Life is too short to live in bitterness, anger and negativity

Empower yourself

And take authority; stop looking for wrong in others

Treasure the little that you have, work on it, be happy and appreciate life

Do what you do best, Last but not least humble yourself, and let people see God through you

The assassin

November 24, 2010 in Uncategorized

A while back there was an opening in the CIA for an assassin. These highly classified positions are extremely difficult to fill, requiring an extensive background check, training and testing before candidates are even considered for the position.

After reviewing several applicants and completing all the checks and training, the field was narrowed to the three most promising candidates. The day came for the final test, which would determine which of equally qualified candidates would get the job.

The final candidates consisted of two men and one woman. The men administering the test took the first candidate, a man, down a corridor to a closed door and handed him a gun saying, “We must be completely assured that you will complete your assignments and follow instructions regardless of the circumstances. Inside this room you will find your wife, seated in a chair.

Take this gun and kill her.” The man, looking completely shocked said, “You can’t be serious! I could never kill my wife.” The CIA man said, “Well, then, you’re obviously not the man for the job. Take your wife and go home.”

They brought the next candidate in, the other man, and repeated the instructions. This man took the gun, walked into the room and closed the door. However, after five minutes of silence, the door opened and the man handed the CIA tester the gun, saying, “I just couldn’t do it. I couldn’t kill my wife. I tried to pull the trigger but I just couldn’t do it.” The CIA man said, “Well, then, you’re obviously not the man for the job. Take your wife and go home.”

Then they brought the woman down the corridor to the closed door, handed her a gun, and said, “We must be completely assured that you will complete your assignments and follow instructions regardless of the circumstances. Inside this room you will find your husband, seated in a chair. Take this gun and kill him.” The woman took the gun, walked into the room, and before the door closed all the way the CIA men heard the gun start firing. One shot after another, for thirteen shots, the noise continued. Then all hell broke loose. For the next several minutes the men heard screaming, cursing, furniture crashing and banging on the walls; then suddenly, silence.

The door opened slowly and there stood the woman. She wiped the sweat from her brow and said, “You guys didn’t tell me the gun was loaded with blanks! I had to beat him to death with the chair!”

be the best

November 24, 2010 in Uncategorized

If you can’t be a pine on top of the hill

Be a scrub in the valley – but be

The best little scrub at the side of the rill.

Be a bush if you can’t be a tree.

If you can’t be a bush be a bit of grass

Some highway to happier make.

If you can’t be a muskie then just be a bass,

But the liveliest bass in the lake.

We can’t all be captains, we’ve got to have crew,

There’s something for all of us here.

There’s big work to do and there’s lesser work too

And the task we must do is near.

If you can’t be a highway, then just be a trail.

If you can’t be the sun be a star.

It isn’t by size that you win or you fail.

Be the best of whatever you are.

Fear

November 23, 2010 in Uncategorized

In these chain, each link

there is fear behind all the choices.

Fear that has kept me in one place,

just stuck here, no were to go.

Fear, that has ruled every step

I have taken to this point .

Fear of not being perfect, fear of making mistakes,

fear of getting hurt, fear of not being good enough.

What do I do with all these fears?

Do I let it control my life or do

I break the links in the chain, one by one.

Breaking each fear slowly in the links,

to emerge as a stronger person in the end.

To take a chance on life and just

take each moment as it comes.
