Tumble Drier for the Girls

February 22, 2013 in Uncategorized

Hirsch’s Umhlanga recently donated a Tumble Dryer to the Christ Church Foundation when they heard that the girls at the home were having a major problem drying their clothes with all the rainfall that Durban has been experiencing.¬† The foundation’s orphanage¬† currently houses 15 homeless girls.

The orphanage provides the girls with shelter and education, giving them a second chance in life.

Christ Church is a mission and development agency committed to serving and addressing the needs of children and youth in KwaZulu Natal. Some of these current needs are: homelessness, dysfunctional families, poverty, HIV and AIDS, gender inequality and life-skills.

On arrival of the Hirsch’s truck, the girls all started dancing for joy.

The staff gladly accepted the gift and the delivery team installed it at the home.¬† “We are so happy that a big company like Hirsch’s see the good work that we do, and helps us to change their lives” said teacher and house mother, Cynthia Khumalo.
