Tumble Drier for the Girls

February 22, 2013 in Uncategorized

Hirsch’s Umhlanga recently donated a Tumble Dryer to the Christ Church Foundation when they heard that the girls at the home were having a major problem drying their clothes with all the rainfall that Durban has been experiencing.  The foundation’s orphanage  currently houses 15 homeless girls.

The orphanage provides the girls with shelter and education, giving them a second chance in life.

Christ Church is a mission and development agency committed to serving and addressing the needs of children and youth in KwaZulu Natal. Some of these current needs are: homelessness, dysfunctional families, poverty, HIV and AIDS, gender inequality and life-skills.

On arrival of the Hirsch’s truck, the girls all started dancing for joy.

The staff gladly accepted the gift and the delivery team installed it at the home.  “We are so happy that a big company like Hirsch’s see the good work that we do, and helps us to change their lives” said teacher and house mother, Cynthia Khumalo.
