Family Portraits for Christmas
December 11, 2012 in Uncategorized
As families spend more time together during the festive season, it is equally important to capture those precious moments. The Sony brand Store recently hosted a photography talk aimed at capturing those wonderful family portraits. Guest speaker and professional photographer, Rory Armstrong explained to the audience that altering your perspective makes a big difference in the end result. Most portraits are taken with the camera at the eye level of the subject. While this is good common sense – completely changing the angle that you shoot from can give your portrait a real WOW factor. Get up high and shoot down on your subject or get as close to the ground as you can and shoot up. Either way you’ll be seeing your subject from an angle that is bound to create interest. By the end of the talk the audience was to put their new skills to the test, with little groups of people gathering, taking photos from all angles and comparing photos with each other. “I have learnt so much from Rory tonight, and with my children and grand children visiting for the holidays, I am excited to play the part of the family photographer” said Gill Saunders
