“ The water had come down heavier that ever before. Flooding was about six meters deep. You could see the plants right down to the bottom of the now clear water surrounding us.
We were taking a brief respite from the work of assisting the infected people to die. There was nothing I could do for them. This was an epidemic of such proportions that the sick had been brought to this isolated palace not to infect the other people.
Hundreds of families had been brought. The whole palace was filled with dead and dying people.
