The last game of golf was nearly 11 months ago and today had the pleasure of playing…..my first tee shot took off like a rocket flying skywards….it went directly towards the poor pine tree which was strategically placed roughly 50 metres to the left of the fairway…..to my ammusement the ball rebounded to the centre of the fairway….once on the green i was roughly 50 feet away….i smashed a hard putt and it skidded across the morning dew and in it went……the next eventful drama came on a par 5….i drillled a ball up the right hand side of the fairway…a 500+ m par 5….alas my poor ball trickled into the rough….200 metres to the flag but my goodness it seemed further so i took out my 5 wood and deposited the 4 iron back in the bag….swoosh…i hit the ball a bit fat…..driving up to the ball I was fortunate to discover i was on the edge of the “wrong” green….i had aimed at the wrong green and luckily hit the correct one….in all only two double drops and 3 birdies making up for a total of 82….not to shabby for a first time out in such a long time….my ankle is killing me and on getting home had a 4 hour nap….seems i am not used to being out in the sun for such a long time….Oh yes the Koala tonic and lemanade hit the spot perfectly…..wish for this week….hit a couple of ball and try and get my long iron play up to sratch…the course was immaculate…greens true but avoid the bunkers as they are rock solid….OH yes forgot this part of the game…a lightie was playing with us…one of the sons of our partners…on our 5th hole he tees off left handed….lands against a tree and asks if he can move the ball…we said NO…he proceeds to pull out a right handed club and hit it better than left handed…i kid you not…this kid has talent…..

Being a kind samaritan and not knowing much about cars….sadly i should not admit this as i am a man….in fact i think my son who is 12 knows more than i do..i bought a 2003 Ford Bantam 1.8d.  little did i know that this model without a turbo has about as much vooma as a tortoise on heat chasing its mate. Is it right it cant get over 4000rpm?  What little blue pill can be given to this car to make it rev like a stallion in stud?
