I look at my inbox and it's empty. The welcoming message greets me with great happiness, it's excitement shown in an exclamation mark. That single punctuation mark contains so much feeling. It's happiness contrasts me anxiousness. I want it to go away.

I wait for a reply to an email. I sit and wait. Constantly greeted by that stupid exclamation mark.

I momentarily lose my power ... and momentarily wonder if it's possible to murder an exclamation mark...

Things I‘d like to do (A very, VERY brief list)
Everyone seems to be getting in focus (or being bored and copying other people) and compiling the major To Do list. I’ve done a number of things I’ve “always wanted to do”, so I think I’m pretty lucky in that respect. But there’s still more I’d like to do…

Travel

Travel wise I‘ve wanted to got to France and Italy. I’ve been in France (just one city I know… but still!) I’m just a day or so away from ticking Italy off the list

Other travel adventures

ItalyVenice (I’m not sure whether it’s to see the place or if it’s just the numerous photo op’s)

A road trip to America/South Africa … or both

To compile a book for each of the cities I’ve been to with accounts of my experiences and photo’s (for personal record .. not commercial ones)

To learn a language and be able to go to a foreign country and use it

Hobbies

I’d like to take up some form of modern dance

Get serious about photography

Paint/draw (I can hardly manage simple lines at the moment … *sigh*)

Get serious about writing

People

I’d like to meet Gareth Cliff, Richard Branson (maybe Dinx and I can hunt him down together!), Kal Penn, Hugh Laurie, … heck, any famous person will do right now...

Never say never
I'm living on the edge and writing this post directly on blogs.24.com *feels the adrenaline pumping*.

I've gone on and on about the things I've learnt, and regularly bring out lists to prove so. I do it alot (it's the only thing with a vague sense of consistency about me) and so you probably think I'm this wise person with great hair. Sadly, you are wrong! On both accounts.

And so I thought it best to clear up the first bit (the part about me bing wise).

Here's a list of some of the things I'll never learn:

  • To compile EVERY post on Word (just thinking about it ... we feel Bill Gates's MS WORD to be more RELIABLE then the blog composer ...)
  • That coffee is bad for me (Yip, I had one as recent as yesterday...)
  • To pull my freakin zip up! (I went on a 30-40 min train ride with my zip open [no I'm not an exbitionist...])
  • That one should COMPLETE what one has started (BB24.com has been inactive.. I know this .. and yet ... . And my Paris posts haven't even reached a chapter.. I know this .. and yet ... . )
  • How to swim (I've tried! ..and tried .. and tried .. and tried...)
  • How to stop being a klutz (if you left me to do something and watched me for about 5 minutes, you'd want to wrap me [or rather everything else..] in bubble wrap)

Not So Fairy Tale: The heart wants what the a$$ doesn't
The post that was supposed to be posted yesterday ...

The princess gave a long hard stare, one that would make a diamond willing crack out of fear. It had been days since she was left without her beloved. The Kingdom was well aware of what this meant and people were scurying about in an effort to locate the princess's beloved, the elixir (aka chocolate).

If the resident photographer had been doing his job, instead of trying to find a suitable hiding spot; it would probably show in the prince's 'before' and 'after' shot that he had shriveld somewhat. Suddenly the prince didn't quite comand his normal height. Some speculated that the prince had shouted; "Save yourself!" during what has infamously become known as
'The Stare', and that he had proceeded to take some of his own advice, a few centimeters of him had anyway...

The princess, feeling slightly taller in the prince's company, softened a bit. She wondered if she had an affinity for shorter men after all… Letting out a long puff of air, that she secretly wished would be replaced by chocolate, the princess decided it best that she be left alone.

The princess opened up the wise, talking book William Wordsworth and wondered what Will had been up to. Instead of the words that mysteriously appeared out of no where, the princess found a bookmarker that read: *'_'*Gone Wizard hunting*'_'*. She closed William, partly in confusion, mostly because of the bookmark, and returned him to her side table.

It was going to be a long wait …

You know you're an addict when ..
  • the 24.com site crashes (or stops working) and you want to blog about being annoyed about it (but can't)
  • you wonder if you should email Al and tell him about all of this
  • you wonder WHY you don't have Al's phone number so you can PHONE him about all of this

And the crappy bit was that I had just posted a post! Lucky me listened to me and had it on a Word document .. *sigh of relief*

Going throught the motions
You know that feeling when you're struggle to keep your head above water? You're a panicky mess, and there's tons to do but you don't know how or when?

I feel panicked.
I feel like I'm a ball of sheer panick.
I feel like panick personified.

In the back of my mind I know that I'm going to be ok. But I feel like I only know this because I'm hoping like hell that I will be. Once again in my little life there's going to be life changes that are quite big. I've got so many things to do. I feel like a child that needs her mommy or daddy to come and make things better. I also feel like a bully telling myself to pull it together and grow up already.
The times are exciting and scary. I am excited and scared.

But most of all, I'm ...
panicked.

What I learnt this weekend
  • A twenty something, adult female CAN still get stuck in her dress (Rachel, consider your blondeness challenged)
  • With a bit of wire and determination, a twenty something, adult female can get unstuck from a dress in around an hour (musta been all those Macguyver episodes in my youth ...)
  • When dealing with delicate material, use bows ... NOT knots (Whose there?? *giggle*)
  • One should look through one's phone more often ...
  • The wind in the air moment is a million times magnified when using the bestest hair straightener in the world (I love you Straity *heart heart heart*)
  • Flippen tourists lose their ability to shop like normal people when in a foreign environment (FYI, DON'T STAND IN THE BLOODY WAY!)
  • There can be a number of variations of a particular item you're shopping for. But when you decide on one, IT WON'T BE IN YOUR SIZE!
  • Next time you walk into Selfridges, take a psychologist with (I walked in not fully knowing what kind of clothing store it was .. I'm not sure whether it was the copious amounts of perfume or the sheer number of brand giants, but I walked around shocked, and was still shocked 30 mins after leaving)
  • Some bright spark cashier gave me a canadian cent instead of a british penny (As a South African that's always taking the exhange rate into account .. I feel robbed)
  • The wind in the hair moment can occur at numerous occasions (*hair flick*)
  • The Sun is following me ...

... and that list is just the tip of the iceberg ok! I have learnt more. I swear I have.

  • If I had to live in Paris I'd be fat
  • Time passes quickly
